Draw Your Own Encyclopaedia Series Classroom Editions

As well as the editions of our Draw Your Own Encyclopaedia books aimed at individual children, we also produce versions specifically for teachers to use in their classrooms. These classroom editions are in an A4 format to make them easy to photocopy to create classroom handouts, and the right to photocopy pages to produce such handouts is included in the price of the book (which is £14,99).  In addition, as well as the full text from the individual edition (including the usual topic paragraphs, questions to answer, quick facts, drawing prompts and the pop quiz based on the information provided in the book), these books come with a range of additional materials.

An example of the double-page layouts featured in the classroom editions of our Draw Your Own Encyclopaedia books (from Draw your Own Encyclopaedia Our Solar System). These double-page layouts can be photocopied to create classroom handouts. They start with a question about a specific topic, followed by an introductory paragraph related to this question. Below this paragraph is a set of questions which can be used to test your students’ comprehension of the paragraph. On the facing page is a related drawing prompt and space for your students to add their own illustration, These sections are interspersed with quick facts to provide additional information on the topic introduced by the main question and paragraph. These additional materials include questions to test your students’ comprehension of each topic paragraphs, worksheets for maths problems associated with the book’s topic, blank Draw Your Own Encyclopaedia pages to allow your students to create their own encyclopaedia entries, ideas for additional classroom activities, links to further reading to enhance your own knowledge of the book’s subject and links to online content related to its content which  you can share with your class.
